Families grow, thrive
with Shaw support
Families are important to Shaw.
A family-run company, Shaw wants to ensure
your family is safe and healthy — whether
you're in your neighbourhood, watching TV or
surfing the web.
Quality TV programming
Canadian children are influenced by some form of media every day. From television to digital communication, media is constantly evolving — and so are our children.
The Shaw Rocket Fund supports Canadian children's programming which is recognized worldwide for its creativity and commitment to quality. We are strong believers in the ability of quality programming to provide value in fueling the young, imaginative minds of our kids and enriching their lives through interaction with creative content on all platforms.
Protecting children online
Shaw is the founding partner of the Canadian Centre for Child Protection, a charitable
organization dedicated to children's safety. The company has donated to the Centre's
initiatives over the last three years, including Cybertip, a national tipline for reporting
child exploitation on the Internet, and Kids in the Know, an interactive safety
Teaching with online fun
The Centre recently launched Zoe and Molly, an online game that teaches children aged seven to nine the risks of sharing personal information and pictures over the internet. The game allows children to create their own avatar and complete an online comic book.
The online game complements a hard-copy comic book featuring Zoe and Molly, two Grade 5 girls who learn how to be safe on the internet.
Shaw Field Technicians distribute the Zoe and Molly comic book to Shaw Internet customers during installations at all homes with children in the target age range.
Shaw Teddy Bears give the softest hugs
Since 1989, Shaw has been providing cuddly, soft Shaw Bears to children in stressful situations. The program donates the toys to community organizations and service groups free of charge.
Pumpkin Patrol hits the streets
Each Halloween, our employees volunteer to ride in the Shaw blue vans and patrol local neighbourhoods to ensure your children are trick-or-treating safely.
In the community
As a family-run business, Shaw respects and supports the interests and values of the communities it serves. Shaw is actively involved in the community and has donated more than $10 million to charitable organizations since 1985.
